FLORENCE, ITALY – With 415 collections expected, of which 180 from abroad, over 5,800 buyers and a total of just under 10,000 visitors at the last summer edition, Pitti Bimbo (June 26-28, 2014, Fortezza da Basso) confirms that it is the only trade fair in the world that presents a complete overview of the universe of children’s fashion on a global level as well as an extraordinary platform for presenting new lifestyle trends for kids, where the focus on research is an increasingly important element.
From the avant-garde styling at Apartment to the classical-elegant big names at Pitti Bimbo, to the creativity of the independent brands in the New View and EcoEthic sections, to the sportswear of Sport Generation and the urban atmospheres of SuperStreet, to accessories and design objects for the littlest set. All within a setting that welcomes visitors with a pleasant, entertaining atmosphere, guiding them in constantly new and original ways through the short circuits of fashion, art, sport and design.
The new names and special projects at this edition include:
Michael Kors, Little Marc Jacobs, Chloé, Kenzo, Timberland, Stuart Weitzman, Invicta, Department 5, Dolfie, Emile and Ida.
Pitti Bimbo 79 will also feature the debut of Kid’s Evolution, the new project realized in collaboration with Vogue Bambini, the brainchild of Alessandro Enriquez that will bring a selection of research-designers to Pitti Bimbo to try their hand for the very first time at collections for kids.
Ping Pitti Pong is the title-theme for Pitti Bimbo 79 and will focus on the simplest, most essential, and almost-Zen aspect of sports (without limits on age, gender or season). Ping pong perfectly embodies all the essential elements of every sport: physical movement and mental concentration, speed and technical skill, competitiveness and fun.
With Ping Pitti Pong, Pitti will portray the contemporary world of sports and its extremely close ties with fashion that is also for kids, the endless game where each response is different, the results uncertain and the strategy and final outcome constantly changing. The project is curated by Oliviero Baldini.
