Florence has made it onto Dua Lipa’s list of favourite places in Italy, with the British-Albanian pop star singling out Giunti Odeon, the bookshop and cinema in Piazza Strozzi, as one of her preferred places to find a book.
The recommendation appears in a personal guide published by Vogue Italia on 27 August 2026, alongside the magazine’s September 2026 issue, which features Dua Lipa on its cover. The singer was asked to select some of her favourite addresses and experiences around Italy, ranging from restaurants and bars to museums and places to relax.
For books, she chose two destinations: Libreria Verso in Milan and Giunti Odeon in Florence. Dua Lipa described the Florence venue as a place she would recommend to anyone visiting the city.

Giunti Odeon combines a bookshop with the historic Odeon cinema, close to Piazza della Repubblica and Piazza Strozzi in Florence’s historic centre.
The Odeon has been part of Florence’s cultural life since 1922. Its more recent transformation created a venue where the auditorium is used as a bookshop during the day while continuing to screen films in the evening.
According to Giunti Odeon, the bookshop is currently open from 10 a.m. to 8.30 p.m., while cinema screenings take place in the evening. The venue also hosts cultural events and presentations.
The unusual combination appears to be what caught Dua Lipa’s attention. Her interest in books is well documented: she runs a monthly book club through Service95, the cultural platform she founded, and told Vogue Italia that reading remains part of her routine even while travelling.
Dua Lipa’s Italian favourites
Florence is one stop in a much broader Italian itinerary selected by the singer.
Her choices include Buonocore in Capri for gelato, Trattoria al Moro in Rome for pasta and Concettina ai Tre Santi in Naples for pizza. She also selected Pompeii as a favourite museum and archaeological experience, bars in Palermo and Milan for an aperitivo, Milan’s Teatro alla Scala for theatre, Rome at night as Italy’s most romantic setting and Positano as a place to relax.
But when it comes to books, Florence shares the top spot — and the city’s century-old Odeon is the place Dua Lipa suggests visitors seek out.
