The American writer and activist, daughter of Bob Kennedy and grandniece of the 35th President of the United States John Fitzgerald Kennedy, was welcomed by director Eike Schmidt who guided her through the rooms dedicated to Botticelli and the Renaissance. A delegation from the city’s Red Cross also accompanied her on her visit to Florence.
For the American activist it was a welcome return: her bond with Florence and Italy is well known. Kerry Kennedy said she was very impressed by the new displays inside the Uffizi Gallery but also by the historic rooms such as “La Tribuna”, where she discovers new fascinating details every time.

Kennedy is very interested in the spiritual dimension of art, during the visit she admire a lot the religious works of Botticelli: among them, especially “Madonna della Melagrana”, “la Madonna del Magnificat” and “l’affresco dell’Annunciazione di San Martino”, where she was photographed with the director.
