FLORENCE, ITALY – A thousand people gathered this morning, Saturday November 14, 2015, in front of the Consulate of France in Florence to witness support to French people after the attacks in Paris.
“Florence is here and it’s not afraid,” shouted to the crowd mayor Dario Nardella. Next to him the French consul in Florence, Isabelle Mallez, the governor of Tuscany Enrico Rossi and many mayors of municipalities in the province of Florence.

The event ended with a prayer led by Father Rosario of the nearby church of Santissima Annunziata.
The consul, who spent hours on the phone with Paris, chose to attack on the door of the consulate a photo that recalls the films of Jacques Rivette «Paris nous appartiens» (Paris belongs to us). Bringing his condolences, the cartoonist Sergio Staino, said: “They are destroying the foundations of coexistence.”
