Firenze Rocks Visitor Guide: Transport, Facilities and Travel Advice

Thousands of music fans are expected to gather at Florence’s Visarno Arena over the coming days as Firenze Rocks returns to the city, followed by a concert by Italian singer-songwriter Cesare Cremonini. Authorities have announced extensive traffic restrictions, park closures and additional public transport services to manage the crowds.

The concert series will begin on 12 June 2026 with Lenny Kravitz, followed by Robbie Williams on 13 June and The Cure on 14 June. Cesare Cremonini will perform at the same venue on 17 June.

To accommodate the events, Florence’s Cascine Park, the city’s largest public park and the location of the Visarno Arena, will be closed to vehicle traffic during concert days. Access to the park will generally be limited to pedestrians, with exceptions for emergency vehicles and authorised disabled visitors.

The Municipality of Florence said traffic restrictions will start at 2 p.m. on 12 and 13 June, while larger crowds expected for The Cure and Cremonini concerts will lead to earlier closures from 9 a.m. on 14 and 17 June.

More than 130 officers from Florence’s Municipal Police will be deployed across the events, with staffing levels increasing for the dates expected to attract the largest audiences.

Roads affected around the Cascine area

Several roads surrounding the concert venue will be closed or subject to access restrictions, including parts of Via delle Cascine, Via del Barco, Viale del Visarno and Piazza Puccini.

Parking restrictions will also be in force across large sections of the Cascine area, Piazza Vittorio Veneto and nearby streets. Dedicated parking areas will remain available for disabled visitors, taxis and authorised vehicles.

Authorities have advised residents and visitors to avoid driving in the area whenever possible and to use public transport.

Extended tram and bus services

Florence’s tram network will operate extended hours on concert nights. Both Tram Line T1 and Tram Line T2 will run until 2 a.m. on 12, 13, 14 and 17 June, with services every seven to nine minutes depending on passenger demand.

The nearest tram stops for the venue are Cascine Carlo Monni on Line T1 and San Donato–Università on Line T2, from where concertgoers can reach the arena on foot.

Several local bus routes will also be modified during the events, while additional night services have been planned to support spectators travelling to and from the concert site.

Park-and-ride facilities recommended

City officials are encouraging visitors to use Florence’s park-and-ride facilities located along the tram network rather than driving directly to the venue.

Recommended parking areas include Villa Costanza, Guidoni, San Donato, Palazzo di Giustizia-Novoli, Fortezza and Porta al Prato-Leopolda, all connected to the city centre and the Cascine area by tram.

Welcome programme for visitors

Alongside the concerts, the city has launched a hospitality initiative called Rock the Stage, Respect the City, developed with the Florence Chamber of Commerce, Promo Firenze and Destination Florence Foundation.

Festival ticket holders will be able to access discounts at civic museums, reduced parking rates, guided walking tours and offers from participating local businesses. The programme is intended to encourage visitors to explore Florence beyond the concert venue and to promote sustainable mobility during the festival.
