Jorge Lorenzo took a victory at the Mugello circuit, Florence, Italy, leading from the first turn till the finish. This win extended his lead in the championship to 19 points over second placed Dani Pedrosa. The race started with Pedrosa entering turn one in the lead, but he ran wide in the long right hand sweeper leaving a gap for Lorenzo to squeeze through.

Moto GP, Pedrosa on pole for Mugello
With the top lap times in the first three practices, and a new circuit record, it seemed certain that Jorge Lorenzo would capture the pole for Round 9 of the 2012 MotoGP World Championship at the Mugello Circuit near Florence, Italy. But, with time for only one more lap remaining, and another record-setting pace, Lorenzo sat up and rode into the pits.

The Argentina right-back is considered to be a versatile character at the back, with the ability to play in the centre or the left side of the defence as well.
Fiorentina signed Ajax striker El Hamdaoui
ACF Fiorentina signed Ajax striker Mounir El Hamdaoui on Wednesday for an undisclosed fee, while terminating the contract of midfielder Houssine Kharja. El Hamdaoui, 27, was a regular in the Ajax side under former manager Martin Jol, but he found himself on the sidelines after a dispute with manager Frank de Boer.

Fiorentina has hired Montella as coach
Fiorentina has hired Vincenzo Montella as coach on a two-year contract to replace Delio Rossi, who was fired last month for hitting midfielder Adem Ljajic during a Serie A match. “Jovetic is an incredible player, of the highest level, and I hope I will be able to Coach him,” he said at his unveiling. “I’ll speak to everyone though, as I need to see if certain players are motivated and ready to stay.”

Fiorentina is safe after the nightmare week
Fiorentina put their nightmare week behind them with a 1-0 victory at Lecce to secure their place in Serie A next season and Roma dropped points at Catania. Alessio Cerci scored the only goal of the game 10 minutes before the break, slotting home from the left side of the box after latching onto Ruben Olivera’s through ball.
Fiorentina trainer Rossi attacks Ljajic, fired
Fiorentina coach Delio Rossi was fired after attacking central midfielder Adem Ljajic during his side’s 2-2 draw with Novara. An incredible episode, that took place at the “Franchi” stadium. At the 32nd minute, with the visitors ahead 2-0, Delio Rossi decided to take out Ljajic for Olivera, the young Fiorentina striker sat down on the bench and then with a gesture provoked the reaction of the coach, who hurled himself at Ljajic starting a small dust up which was fortunately ended quickly.
Fiorentina’s fight to stay in Serie A continues
Atalanta beat Fiorentina 2-0 this afternoon at the Stadio Azzurri d’Italia in Bergamo. Goals from German Denis in the 11th minute and Giacomo Bonaventura in the 51st gave the hosts all three points, while Fiorentina’s Stevan Jovetic had a second-half penalty saved by Andrea Consigli. The result means that Atalanta are mathematically safe, while Fiorentina’s fight to stay in Serie A continues.
