Epiphany, last events of the holiday season

It's Christmas time in FlorenceFLORENCE, ITALY – In Florence the Opera di Santa Maria del Fiore organizes on January 6 a historical re-enactment of the visit of Three Wise Men.

The historical parade, led by the Three Wise Men, is made up of 800 people and includes figures from the Old Florentine Republic.

It starts in Piazza Pitti at 2pm and travels through Florence, reaching Piazza Duomo at 3:30pm. Here the Three Wise Men leave their gifts for Baby Jesus at the living Nativity Scene and figures from the Catholic church, including Archbishop Giuseppe Betori and Franco Lucchesi, President of the Opera di Santa Maria del Fiore.

For the first time ever, members of Florence’s foreign communities, wearing their traditional garb, will also take part in the event. For details, see www.operaduomo.firenze.it.
