FLORENCE, ITALY – The weather will be wet on Easter Sunday with showers and thunderstorms in the morning. Francesco Nucera of 3bmeteo.com, reported that the rain on Easter morning will fall over Friuli, Veneto, Mantua, Emilia Romagna, the northern ridge, Tuscany, Marche, Umbria, Campania, Calabria especially on the Tyrrhenian side and northern Sicily and North.
Then in the afternoon rain will also hit Abruzzo, Molise, Puglia and inland Lazio. However, the weather will be mainly fine in the North West. In the evening there will be showers in the South and on the Adriatic coast, with reasonable weather elsewhere except for a few showers in the western Prealps. “But as already announced in recent days”, added 3bmeteo.com, “the weather will improve on Easter Monday. There will still be a few showers early in the day over Calabria, North Sicily and Salento, but elsewhere there will be sunshine obscured by a few passing clouds”.
Snow will return to the Alps and Apennines. It will snow the eastern Alps over about 1000 metres, on the northern mountains initially over 1200/1500, and over 1500/1800 in the South. The snow level is predicted to fall to 1000/1200 metres in the Centre, with 1200/1500 in the South.
High winds are forecast, with the Mistral and Tramontana over Sardinia, Sicily, Southern Tyrrhenian, Ionian and lower Adriatic, with gusts of up to 60/80 km/h. The seas will be rough with possible storms in exposed areas.
