FLORENCE, ITALY – An official Milan Expo 2015 train station was inaugurated in a ceremony on Friday March, 6, 2015. The words Milano Expo 2015 were appended to those of Rho Pero, where the station is located northeast area of the city, where both the world fair and Milan’s main exhibition centre are located.
The chief executive of the Italian state railway company, Michele Mario Elia, participated in the ceremony as did Expo Commissioner Giuseppe Sala.
A local train to the airport for the first time departed from Milan’s Central Station carrying an Expo livery. It will be flanked by two types of higher speed, express trains for the food-themed universal exposition that runs May to October.
