Gas prices above 2 Euros per liter in Tuscany
Gas prices in Italy, as in many parts of the world, have risen again with many parts of the country showing record highs. Tuscany is the first region for the average price of “super”. It has reached 2 euro per liter last week for the first time ever. The increased cost in Tuscany is due to a regional tax that will be used to pay flood damages and the island of Elba and in Lunigiana last winter.
Frecciarossa 1000, a 400 km/h Italian jewel
The new Frecciarossa 1000 aroused great curiosity among the visitors of the Meeting of Rimini, after the unveiling of the mock up on the evening of August 19 by the Premier Mario Monti. Gino Bartali celebrated in US, Canada and UK
Gino Bartali was a war hero and a champion road cyclist. He was the most renowned Italian cyclist before the Second World War, having won the Giro d’Italia three times and the Tour de France in 1938 and 1948. A recent book available in US, Canada and UK focus on his work in helping Jews who were being persecuted by the Nazis during the time of the Italian Social Republic.
