FLORENCE, ITALY – Italy will probably enter in the white zone by the end of June. The exact date changes region by region.
Italy will be completely on yellow zone from May 24 . The decline in infections, reinforced by the increase in vaccinations, could bring all Italy to the white zone by the end of June.
Friuli Venezia Giulia, Molise and Sardinia are ready to enter the white zone from May 31. Abruzzo, Veneto and Liguria will follow on June 7. Lombardy, Emilia-Romagna and Lazio will be ready on June 14th.
Calabria, Marche, Piedmont, Puglia and Tuscany will need more time. However the technicians expect all Italy to be on the white zone by the end of June. If the Indian variant (more transmissible than the English one) remains under control.
Regional governors and entrepreneurs also hope for to enter on the white zone, especially for summer season: there is no curfew (which according to the national law should be abolished on June 21) and everything is open: only the rules of conduct apply (masks and necessary distances).
