FLORENCE, ITALY – Gas prices in Italy, as in many parts of the world, have risen again with many parts of the country showing record highs. Tuscany is the first region for the average price of “super”. It has reached 2 euro per liter last week for the first time ever. And today the price of gasoline has gone up again.
The increased cost in Tuscany is due to a regional tax that will be used to pay flood damages and the island of Elba and in Lunigiana last winter.
For Italians and tourists who visit Italy, the only way to save money is to stock up on weekends to Eni (from Saturday afternoon to Sunday evening) and Esso (from Friday evening to Sunday evening only with the self-service) where the gasoline is discounted by 20 cents per liter. The promotion is available until the end of the summer.
Diesel is cheaper than “super” and the last promotion cost is a little bit more than 1,600 euros per liter. At the beginning of this summer the diesel promotion gas price was to 1,392 Euros per liter.
