A new terminal for the Florence airport

Florence airportFLORENCE, ITALY – The expansion of the airport terminal in Florence goes on. After the “Arrival hall”, opened in December 2011, it’s made ​​operational the new “Departure hall” of 2,600 square meters: the official opening is scheduled for next July 24.

On the first floor there are large desks and 40 (instead of 23), at the ground floor a new system of baggage control and the baggage system is capable of treating more than 1,500 bags per hour. Passengers departing from the airport of Florence now have a faster and more convenient processing of applications for acceptance.

Marinò Biagio, CEO of Adf (the society which manage the Florence airport), has underlined the company’s desire to speed: “We wanted to start the operation of the new hall check in advance, given the intense traffic of the summer and to allow our passengers to enjoy the new environment more comfortable and new facilities.”
