Ferragamo sponsors the Leonardo exhibition

Louvre (Bravenewtravele) - CCFLORENCE, ITALY – A prestigious and stimulating new project that melds creative genius, fashion, art and history – Salvatore Ferragamo will be the exclusive sponsor of Leonardo da Vinci’s latest exhibition, “The Saint Anne, Leonardo da Vinci’s Ultimate Masterpiece”, on display at the Louvre from March 29 through June 25, 2012.

The exhibition celebrates Leonardo da Vinci’s oil on wood entitled “The Virgin and Child with Saint Anne”, the famous masterpiece, executed between 1503-1519, that recently underwent a thorough restoration.

Ferruccio Ferragamo, Chairman of the Ferragamo Group, states that “It is a great honour for our family and our fashion group to have been chosen amongst the other highly esteemed contestants to sponsor this exclusive event. Endless creativity, an innovative aesthetic, artisanal roots and groundbreaking research have always characterized the Italian genius as embodied by Leonardo da Vinci and that we have always appreciated. This are values dating back to my father that have inspired our work and the reality of our company.”

On the occasion of this exhibition, Salvatore Ferragamo will present its 2012 Resort collection, designed by Creative Director Massimiliano Giornetti, with an exclusive event.

On June 12, the creations of the Maison will stride down a unique 120-meter runway, under the archways of the Denon peristyle that frames the Louvre. It is the first time that the museum has granted the use of its historical interiors for a runway show.

Previously, similar events have taken place in the court yard next to the glass pyramid. The show will be followed by an exclusive dinner and a private tour of the museum.
