Carnival celebrations, magic February
The most enjoyable festival of the year is coming up: February isthe month of Carnival. The city of Florence organizes many small events, but the best Carnival festivals are in the rest of Tuscany, especially in Viareggio, a seaside town situated on the Tuscany coast, an hour’s drive from Florence. Viareggio is a tourist seaside resort with beaches and hotels, famous for its Carnival.
Skiing in Tuscany, it’s the right time
This week the snow has covered almost all of Tuscany. Temperatures are still very cold, below zero, but the snow of these days is perfect for skiing. Tuscany is a great region for winter sports. Local governments fight on the new airport runway
The Florentine politics fights on the new runway for the airport of Florence. ADF, the management company of the airport, few weeks ago said that the only sustainable solution was to build a new runway parallel to the highway A11. But the president of the province, Andrea Barducci preferring the oblique runaway, also endosed by the governor of Tuscany Enrico Rossi.
