One of Italian cycling’s all-time greats, Fiorenzo Magni, died Friday aged 91. Nicknamed the Lion of Flanders, Magnia was the ‘third man’ of Italian cycling’s heroic era, vying with Fausto Coppi and Gino Bartali.

Stevan Jovetic’s early goal earned Fiorentina victory at home to Bologna in Serie A. The win lifted Fiorentina to the verge of the European places with Bologna still in mid-table. The routes of the 2013 UCI world road race championships in Tuscany have been officially unveiled with the elite men’s road race predicted to be the toughest since Bernhard Hinault won the rainbow jersey in Sallanches, France in 1980. Fiorentina, Aquilani will be out for two weeks
