Salvatore Ferragamo spa, parent company of the Salvatore Ferragamo Group, one of the global leaders in the luxury sector, released the Group’s Preliminary Consolidated Revenue figures for the fiscal year 2011, drafted according to IAS/IFRS international accounting principles, which amount to 986.5 million Euros up by 26.2 % vs. Financial Year 2010.
Professor Pacini dies, he was the “daddy of pulsars”
Professor Franco Pacini died this morning in Florence, Italy. Pacini was one of the greatest Italian astrophysicists, pioneer of the research on neutron stars, called “pulsars”. He has given a fundamental contribution to the realization of the LBT, Large Binocular Telescope, housed at MGIO in Arizona (USA).

Unesco chooses Florence for ICOMOS 2014
The city of Florence wins the next General Assembly of ICOMOS 2014, the most important international event aimed at the preservation of cultural heritage. The ICOMOS Executive Committee accepted the proposal made by the President of ICOMOS Italy, Maurizio Stefano, to host the big event in the city.
Amauri, the first day of training
ACF Fiorentina announced yesterday (Tuesday) to have agreed with Juventus FC a permanent deal for the striker Amauri Carvalho de Oliveira. New flights to Paris, Madrid and Barcelona
From March 25 new direct flights will be enabled between the airport of Florence Amerigo Vespucci and the cities of Paris and Madrid. The agreement between Vueling and Florence Airport was signed yesterday. Travelers will enjoy a special rate of 39.99 euros each way.
Corridoio vasariano sold out, no more reservations
The visits to the Vasari Corridor (Corridoio vasariano) have been very successful. After one week of reservations, they are sold out until April 26.
