FLORENCE, ITALY – Women Supporting Women unites expat and Italian artisans together to fight against domestic violence. In Italy there are no national laws against domestic violence.
Last year alone Artemisia, the women and children’s crisis center in Florence Italy, assisted approximately 1400 women, and their children, escape domestic violence. Artemisia has been fighting against domestic violence, and helping families to rebuild their lives, for 20 years.
On March 8th, International Women’s Day, artisans will come together for a special showing, and aperitivo, to raise funds to support the very important work that Artemisa does.
There are many ways in which you can help to make this event a success.
1) It would be wonderful if you attended the event to show your support in the fight against domestic violence. Tickets are 12 euro. Please see the attached flyer for event details.
2) If you are unable to attend the event, but would like to assist in the fight against domestic violence, you can make a donation here.
3) If you are a business owner you can help to make a difference by donating an item to the raffle table.
4) If you are a winery owner, or know a winery owner, you can make a difference by donating wine for the event.
5) If you are a restaurant owner, or caterer, you can make a difference by donating a dish to the aperitivo table.
6) If you would like to help make the event a success by volunteering your time on the day of the event, please email me.
7) You can help to make this event a success by helping to spread the word. Please forward this email to your friends. I have attached both English and Italian flyers that you can post on your Facebook page.
