British student raped in Florence pub bathroom

FLORENCE, ITALY – A British student was raped in Florence pub bathroom Thursday night. A professor reported the incident to the Italian police.

The 21-year-old British student, who is on an Italy trip with professors and fellow students, was taken to the emergency room, where she was treated and released with a three-day prognosis.

Her teacher reported the incident to police, who are investigating. The victim said a man known to the pub followed her into the bathroom, where he attacked her.
