American tourist stabbed in the centre of Florence

FLORENCE, ITALY – A 68-year-old American tourist, Don Alan Brennan according to the Italian website Firenze Post, was stabbed in Florence’s main square in front of the famed Duomo cathedral on Tuesday.

Police said he was listening to a street musician with his wife when someone tried to mug him and he resisted. Doctors said he suffered knife wounds to a kidney and a lung and was in critical condition after emergency surgery.
