The Incredible Voyage of Enaiathollah Akbari

SUF in FlorenceFLORENCE, ITALY – Syracuse University in Florence is pleased to invite you to the lecture: L’incredibile viaggio di Enaiathollah Akbari (“The Incredible Voyage of Enaiathollah Akbari”), Wednesday, November 28 at 6:15pm. Syracuse University, Piazza Savonarola 15, Florence.

From about age 10 to age 18, Enaiat Akbari (now 24 years old) travelled from Afghanistan to Italy where he finally settled down. His fascinating story has been featured on several Italian TV shows and recounted in a book by Fabio Geda.

For this special lecture Enaiatollah Akbari, protagonist of the bestseller Nel mare ci sono I coccodrilli (“There are crocodiles in the sea”), will be interviewed by Giacomo Guerrini, journalist and press agent for the Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights in Florence.

This lecture is part of a Syracuse University in Florence’s Fall 2012 lecture series coordinated by Natalia Piombino and dedicated to Amerigo Vespucci entitled “Exploring the Other”. This lecture is sponsored by Loredana Tarini, Italian Department Coordinator.
