Tuscany promotes Giglio after the Costa tragedy

Costa concordia (Gozzo)FLORENCE, ITALY – The cruise ship Costa Concordia leans on its side after running aground the tiny Tuscan island of Giglio, Italy, Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012. Since that day the operations to remove fuel will end tomorrow evening.

It was announced today by the mayor of the island of Giglio, Sergio Ortelli, who is in Florence to take part in a press conference aimed at promoting tourism in the island.

The press conference was also attended by the president of the province of Grosseto, Leonardo Marras. Ortelli explained that, at this stage, “only a few tonnes of fuel remain in the ship. Operations to recover fuel oil will end by tonight, while those to recover bilge water will end tomorrow”.

Five more bodies was found today in Costa Concordia cruise wreck. Actually, two bodies are missing.
