Tuscan airports challenge the economic crisis

Florence airportFLORENCE, ITALY – The Italian airport system closes 2011 with a growth in passenger traffic up 6.4%, corresponding to over 9 million passengers in 2010. In North-central part of the Country, good results by Pisa Airport, Galileo Galilei (+11.3%), and by Florence airport Amerigo Vespucci (+9.8%).
 
The year 2011 shows that, despite some adverse macroeconomic factors, the aviation industry to be a leading sector of the economy. According to Assoaeroporti, the traffic growth in 2011 makes even clearer the need to modernize the airport facilities in order to improve the quality of service for the passenger.
