Many children have accepted the invitation of the Archbishop of Florence, Monsignor Giuseppe Betori that, in a letter to them and signed with a simple “Joseph, your bishop,” inviting them some weeks ago with the goal to return to the center of the festivities: the birth of baby Jesus.
The award for the most beautiful crib will be Thursday January 5 at 4 pm to the church of San Gaetano (Via Tornabuoni-piazza Antinori). Even Pope Benedict XVI has given his blessing to the initiative.
During the awards ceremony there will be a performance by the Children’s Choir Small Pomegranate with Christmas carols. The event is funded by Ente Cassa di Risparmio di Firenze.
