There were approximately 100,000 people in the streets of Florence, Italy, to celebrate New Year’s Eve. On the stages, free and open air, singers and musicians as Brunori SAS and Caparezza, a live gospel choir, a jazz band and a concert inside the new Opera House conducted by Zubin Mehta.
According to the city’s mayor, Matteo Renzi, everything went without any major accidents and no damage was caused to the works of art in the center. Many broken glass left on the streets, the Quadrifoglio is trying to remove since the earliest hours of the morning.
People cared for by volunteers for alcohol or other problems were 94 during the all night. Eight people were injured by the bursting of the barrels. Among them, also three boys, two aged 12 and one of 13. The prognosis for anyone to exceed 30 days. No one was hospitalized. Calls for help to the firefighters were 19.
