ADF, parallel runway only sustanible solution

ADF chose the new runway for the florentine airport. Board of ADF has formalized that the best solution is the runway parallel to A11 freeway.

The board, express in a note, explains that “according to the last studies the runway with 12-30 orientation, tilted away from the highway about 14 degrees, is the only sustainable solution. According to ADF the parallel runway “is the only new runway, that may justify a huge investment self-funding of around 100 million euros, ensuring the effective development and expected benefits for the territory”.

“This solution – also says the company – provides a lower impact on the area in terms of environment and, mostr of all, noise impact. This solution excludes flights over residential areas now involved and over the city of Prato.”

ADF, institutions play the shares game

“We believe that the presence of Regione Toscana in ADF, which had been shared and had positive pronouncements from several parts, is necessary to give a guarantee to everyone”, said Enrico Rossi, governor of Tuscany, concerning the hypothesis that institutions could be entry in ADF, the companies which manage the airport of Florence.

Yesterday, the President of the Chamber of Commerce of Florence, Vasco Galgani, described as “not possibile” rent 10% of the shares to Regione by Chamber of Commerce, as assumed few months ago.

In the fact, the contract has expired few days ago, but the deal, however, could be achieved by private negotiations in the next months. ”I will not talk about technicalities”, said Rossi, “but I’m sure that the purchase of share by Regione coul be a good news even for the Chamber of Florence and Prato. In the fact, if Regione buy or rent some ADF shares means that we believe in the development of the airport.”
