It is curated by Antonello Negri. The exhibition explores the 1930s through the masterpieces of over forty leading artists of the period, including Mario Sironi, Giorgio de Chirico, Alberto Savinio, Achille Funi, Carlo Carrà and many others.

“Americans in Florence”, a tribute to Vespucci

Sargent and the American Impressionists”, 2 March – 15 July 2012 at Palazzo Strozzi, explores the American impressionists’ relationship with Italy, and with Florence, 500 years since the death of Amerigo Vespucci.  The exhibition is designed to celebrate the strong ties linking the Old and the New World, and the cosmopolitan ambiance transmitting European culture to America.
