Two exceptional events will celebrate the Florentine “New Year’S Day”, sunday: the “Award of Arts 2012” and the arrival of the exhibition “America’s Amerigo” dedicated to Amerigo Vespucci. The Arts Award is organized by “Florentines in the World” association, with the Academy of Arts and Design and the Rotary Club, to be held in the assembly hall.

Saturday, February 18, 2012, the city of Florence will celebrate the anniversary of the death of the Electress Palatine, the last branch of the Grand Ducal de’ Medici family, who ruled Florence for about two centuries.
