Andy Holt has been named general manager of GE Energy’s Renewable Energy Services division. Holt, who is a 16-year veteran of the company, will lead GE’s wind and solar services segment. Holt makes the move to the renewables team from his most recent role as general manager for service operations within GE Oil & Gas, based in Florence, Italy.

The Int’l WWW Conference comes to Florence in 2015
Florence stands at the final in Lyon and won the 25th International Conference on the World Wide Web that will be held from 14th to 18th of April 2015 in the Florentine congress context. A Starbucks could open in Florence in October 2012
After landing the Hard Rock Cafe, another giant in food&beverage could arrive soon in Florence. It’s the Starbucks coffee, the largest chain of coffee shops with about 20 thousand stores around the world. The news is not official but it’s surfing the Web riding social networking sites as Facebook and Twitter.
Frescobaldi recorded a turnover of 82 mln euros
Marchesi De’ Frescobaldi, the Tuscan group famous in the world for its prestigious wines of quality, recorded in 2011 a turnover of 82 million euros, an increase of +4% compared to 79.6 million euros in 2010 . The realization of this result has accounted for over 60% share in exports, especially to Russia and Asia.

Joint ventures Tuscany-Tunisian regions
Enrico Rossi, President of the Tuscany Region (Italy), said Tuscany companies are interested in investing and creating joint ventures in such Tunisian regions as Sousse and Kasserine. Speaking at a meeting held recently in Florence on “Cooperation for Democracy between Tunisia and Tuscany,” he reviewed the opportunities offered by these regions in the health, agriculture, basic infrastructure and manufacturing industries sectors.
Record growth for Ferragamo Group
As of 31 December 2011, the Salvatore Ferragamo Group has posted Total Revenues of 986.4 million Euros, a 26.2% increase, at current exchange rates, over the 781.6 million Euros recorded in FY 2010, showing significant growth in all geographical areas, product lines and distribution channels. Revenue growth at constant exchange rate has been 24.1%
Piaggio, the factory bikes inspired by California
The Tuscany-based Piaggio Group is to open an Advanced Design Center in the USA, in Pasadena, California. The announcement was made yesterday in Miami by Group Chairman and CEO Roberto Colaninno, during the Piaggio Group Americas convention attended by more than three hundred US and Canadian dealers and the Piaggio Group distributors based in South America.
