The springtime of RenaissanceThe Springtime of the Renaissance will be held at Palazzo Strozzi in Florence (23 March-18 August 2013), then at the Musée du Louvre in Paris. The exhibition proposes to illustrate the origin of what is still known today as the “miracle” of the Renaissance in Florence, doing so principally through masterpieces of sculpture, the branch of figurative art in which that new season first saw the light of day.

The “Gates of Paradise” restored after 27 years

The Gates of ParadiseIt is returning to public view after a 27-year restoration, the “Gates of Paradise”, the masterpiece by Lorenzo Ghiberti. Made of bronze and gold for the Baptistery of Florence, the name of the “Gate” was given by Michelangelo. Removed to protect it from the Second World War in 1943,it  was damaged by the flood of the Arno river in 1966 and replaced with a copy in 1990.

KosvanecThe Fifth Light – exhibition by Vlastimil Kosvanec The exhibition, organized thanks to the Province of Florence and presented by Museum Martinengo Villagana, Villachiara-Brescia, is produced in an Italian city for the first time. The exhibition project counts the presence of 36 works of the Boehmian artist Vlastimil Košvanec (Prague, 1887-1961) divided into five “rooms” of Palazzo Medici Riccardi in Florence.
