The façade of Florence’s Santa Trinita Church has been restored to its original state after being vandalized last April. The red graffiti, which had marred the historic building for weeks, was removed today thanks to the coordinated efforts of the Custodi del Bello and volunteers from the Angeli del Bello Foundation.
The cleanup is part of the foundation’s ongoing work to preserve the city’s beauty and dignity through urban care projects. For over five years, the Custodi del Bello initiative has supported people in vulnerable situations by offering training and employment opportunities tied to the maintenance of Florence’s public spaces. More than 50 citizens have participated in the project so far, contributing to graffiti removal, green area maintenance, and other micro-cleaning operations across the city.
Today’s work extended beyond the church itself. In recent days, volunteers also removed graffiti from nearby streets—including Via del Parione and Via Porta Rossa—which had been defaced over the weekend. While those interventions could take place immediately, the cleanup at Santa Trinita required special authorization due to the building’s historical and artistic value.
The operation highlights the importance of timely and coordinated urban maintenance, especially in areas rich in cultural heritage. The Angeli del Bello Foundation continues to engage the local community and promote civic pride through tangible action.
