Cantine Aperte: Wine Tourism Events Across Tuscany on May 24-25

Italy’s most popular wine tourism event, Cantine Aperte, returns on Saturday, May 24 and Sunday, May 25, with hundreds of wineries opening their doors to visitors all over Italy, including many in Tuscany.

Organized by the Movimento Turismo del Vino (MTV), the 2025 edition aims to offer more than just tastings. Participating wineries across the region invite visitors to enjoy vineyard picnics, guided wine and food pairings, mini wine education sessions, and vineyard walks. Many locations will also feature live jazz and rock concerts, creating a relaxed atmosphere where guests can explore the world of wine while enjoying entertainment in scenic surroundings.

As in past years, Cantine Aperte promotes responsible drinking through its ongoing partnership with the Wine in Moderation program. The initiative highlights the importance of enjoying wine in a balanced and conscious way without compromising the pleasure of tasting.

“This year’s event is designed to showcase the newest tourism experiences our wineries have to offer,” said Violante Gardini Cinelli Colombini, president of Movimento Turismo del Vino. “It’s a unique opportunity for wine lovers to discover more sustainable, engaging, and memorable experiences. Even seasoned wine travelers who have visited wineries all over the world will find something new to enjoy in Tuscany.”

An official preview event will take place in the days leading up to Cantine Aperte at the Land of Fashion outlets in Palmanova (Friuli Venezia Giulia) and Valdichiana (Tuscany). Proceeds from this preview event will support pediatric hospitals.
