A New Way to Enjoy Boboli Gardens: 350 Movable Chairs Now Available

Visitors to the Boboli Gardens in Florence can now enjoy a more comfortable and flexible experience with the introduction of 350 movable chairs. This is the first time in the garden’s history that such seating has been made available, adding a new layer of relaxation to one of the city’s most iconic green spaces.

A Parisian-Inspired Touch

The new chairs, painted in an elegant aqua green, are crafted from steel and designed in the style of early 20th-century Parisian garden furniture. Each chair features the Uffizi Galleries’ logo engraved on the backrest, ensuring they blend harmoniously with the historic surroundings.

Two types of chairs are available: a classic upright model and a semi-reclining version, offering visitors the choice of a traditional seat or a more relaxed lounging position. Unlike the existing stone benches scattered throughout the gardens, these new chairs can be moved freely, allowing guests to find their perfect spot to sit and enjoy the surroundings.

Enhancing the Visitor Experience

With the arrival of spring and sunny days, the chairs have already become popular among visitors. Whether seeking a sun-soaked spot for an early tan, a shaded retreat for reading, or a place to admire the breathtaking views of Florence, guests can now customize their seating experience. The chairs also offer a convenient resting point for those exploring the expansive park, especially after walking its sloping paths.

Where to Find Them

The chairs have been strategically placed across various areas of the gardens, including the shaded terraces around the Neptune Fountain, the Prato dei Castagni, and the Upper Botanical Garden. Their distribution ensures that they do not interfere with the park’s architectural balance while providing ample opportunities for visitors to relax and appreciate the beauty of the Medici-era landscape.

A Thoughtful Addition

This initiative, planned by the Uffizi Galleries, aims to enhance visitors’ comfort while preserving the garden’s historical charm. While the chairs offer a welcome convenience, maintaining their condition will be essential to ensure they remain a valuable addition to the gardens over time.

For those exploring Florence, a visit to Boboli Gardens is now even more inviting. Whether for a quiet moment alone, a conversation with friends, or simply to soak in the atmosphere, these new chairs provide a fresh way to experience one of the city’s most enchanting outdoor spaces.
