Florence’s Cultural Sites Shine During Ferragosto Holiday

FLORENCE, ITALY – Florence’s renowned cultural landmarks saw a significant number of visitors on Ferragosto, Italy’s national holiday, celebrated on Thursday, according to the Ministry of Culture.

Among the most visited sites across the country, Florence’s Uffizi Gallery welcomed 10,567 visitors, making it one of the top destinations for tourists and locals alike. The Galleria dell’Accademia, home to Michelangelo’s David, also drew considerable attention, with 7,997 visitors.

While Rome’s Colosseum and Pompeii remained the most popular nationwide, Florence continued to be a key attraction for art and history enthusiasts during the holiday.
