FLORENCE, ITALY- Sophia Loren arrives in Florence to inaugurate the new restaurant dedicated to her. And for the occasion, the mayor of Florence Dario Nardella will give to her the Keys to the City. The diva, the icon of Italian cinema in the world, will be in the Tuscan capital Saturday June 5, for almost an entire day. “A beautiful city,” said Sophia, unfortunately, rarely had the opportunity to visit Florence during her glorious career.
The first public appointment will be at 01.00 pm in the Cortile di Michelozzo, Palazzo Vecchio, where the actress will receive the Keys to the City, the municipality award attributed to the great personalities who give prestige to the arts. Shortly after, around 01.30 pm , the two-time Oscar-winning actress will attend the inauguration of “Sophia Loren – Original Italian Food”, the first of five venues in Italy dedicated to Sofia Loren, with the idea of exporting the Sophia Loren Original Italian Food brand to the world.
“This new adventure is the natural evolution of my way of facing life with curiosity and enthusiasm – comments Sophia Loren – For me, living means having new experiences, getting passionate, experimenting. Working on new projects is a way to get back on my feet, to continue learning. When I was called to participate in this project I had no doubts because this restaurant represents some of the things I love most: Italian cuisine, the moments of conviviality linked to it and then my different cinema characters that they are somehow related to cooking “.
