FLORENCE, ITALY – A storm will threaten to cause travel disruptions in Italy through late this week.
Italy is about to experience its coldest weather since 2012 as an icy wind from Siberia sweeps across the north and centre.
Before the north-easterly wind, known as the buran, reaches these shores, a late-winter cold snap has already set in over much of the country. Heavy snow will also target northern Italy.
Snow is forecast on hills and plains north of Florence in upper Tuscany.
