FLORENCE, ITALY – An abandoned suitcase near the ticket office at Florence’s Fortezza da Basso sparked a bomb alarm on Thursday January 12, 2017 at the city’s Pitti Uomo fashion fair. Bomb disposal experts have been called to the scene.
Police bomb disposal experts used a small water canon on the case and were able to establish that it did not contain explosives, but paper. The area that case was in had been sealed off and dozens of people moved away.
So the bomb alarm sparked by an abandoned suitcase near the ticket office for the Pitti Uomo men’s fashion fair at Florence’s Fortezza da Basso is over.
Pitti 91 (from January 10 to January 13, 2016.) hosts 1,220 brands and collections, 540 of which from abroad (44% of the total), 210 new names and reentries .
The exhibition space si about 60,000 square metres, 36,000 visitors are expected, with over 24,800 buyers, 8,800 of which (35,5% of the total) from abroad.
