FLORENCE, ITALY – Italian food magazine Gambero Rosso released its 2016 review of pizzerias on Tuesday September 22, 2015 awarding six new restaurants a level three rating.
A total of 12 pizzerias received the top rating in Campania, the best-performing region, while Tuscany received six and Lazio had five. The Gambero Rosso top pizzerias in Tuscany are: Palazzo Pretorio (Tavarnelle Val di Pesa, Florence), Sud (Florence), La Kambusa (Massarosa, Lucca), La Divina Pizza (Florence), Lo Spela (Greve in Chianti, Florence), Apogeo Giovannini (Pietrasanta, Lucca).
A prize for the best gluten-free pizza went to Pizzeria dal Guappo in Moiano, while the award for the best up and coming pizza maker went to Alberto Morello in Este, near Padua.
