FLORENCE, ITALY – The contemporary artist and fine art collector Jeff Koons will be attending the opening of Biennale dell’antiquarato, in Palazzo Corsini, Florence, Italy, on September 25th.
On this occasion the statue of Pluto and Proserpina will be placed on Arengario Palazzo Vecchio, in Piazza Signoria. The monumental work, more than three meters high, will inaugurate the project in Florence, an ambitious and innovative program that sees the protagonists of the art of our time dealing with the spaces and the works of the Florentine Renaissance.
Jeff Koons in Florence is one of the most awaited exhibits of the year: a comparison between the provocative beauty of the works of the brilliant American artist and timeless masterpieces by Donatello (1386-1466) and Michelangelo (1475-1564). The locations chosen for this unusual “dialogue” will be the Sala dei Gigli in the Palazzo Vecchio and Piazza della Signoria.
