FLORENCE, ITALY – A sports law/management professor, Preston James IV, will be bringing a number of students to Florence and Rome Italy to look at international sports management from December 12, 2014 until December 23th. These students who are part of a hands on program at Northwood University where the students have worked before with events such as the Winter X Games, NHL Winter classic, NCAA Final Four and World Cup Skiing to name a few. Presently students in their program work with the Detroit Pistons of the NBA as well as the Detroit Red Wings of the NHL in the U.S.
While in Italy they will be visiting the FIGC Coverciano as well as attending lectures on The Italian Football (soccer) experience. A highlight of the trip will be accepting an offer from AS Roma owner Jim Pallotta and CEO Italo Zanzi to visit their facilities in Trigoria and attend a game with them. This will be followed up with accepting an offer from ACF Fiorentina to attend one of their games and meet with their executives by COO Gianluca Baiesi.
