Florence Marathon (and other 13) for Freddie

FLORENCE, ITALY – Running 14  marathons in 2014 for Freddie Saunders, a british boy who suffered a serious spinal injury in a road accident in 2013. He requires very special care when eventually goes home from hospital and the family home will need to be adapted to Freddie’s needs. His parents would like to create a sensory playroom for him. An international crowdfunding campaign has been activated on Kapipal.

A friend of him and his family, Louise Phillips, are running 14 races in 2014 and hoping people will sponsor to raise money for Freddie. He raised 890 British Pounds, about 30% of 3.000 Pounds he needs for Freddie. Florence Marathon, scheduled for November 30 in Florence, Italy, is his 13th marathon. The last one is the Portsmouth Marathon on December 21.

Freddie is currently being cared for at Birmingham Children’s Hospital and his family are with him. He is likely to remain in hospital throughout this year. Louise Phillips live in the Welsh border town of Presteigne. He love running and taking part in races: “I hope I can raise lots of money for Freddie’s sensory playroom through sponsorship for my events this year”, wrote in the crowdfunding page on Kapipal.
