Kim and Kanye to wed at Florence’s Forte Belvedere

FLORENCE, ITALY – Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are planning to wedding in Florence, Italy. The “World’s Most Talked About Couple” was going to wedding at Florence’s Forte di Belvedere.

According to Us Weekly, the rapper Kanye West has a deep admiration for the Italian city. “I adore Florence – he said -. I love Italy and the Italian lifestyle. To tell you the truth, I already came to the banks of the Arno river with Kim last year, just the two of us, incognito… I think that our daughter North was conceived here among the Renaissance masterpieces. It was our first honeymoon. It is one of the most beautiful cities in the world, for me the most beautiful in Europe.”

The rapper has currently been working in the Tuscan city with fashion designer Ermmano Scervino, who he calls an inspiration and has been working on an album aptly named Made in Florence.

The location for the wedding will be Forte di Belvedere or Fortezza di Santa Maria in San Giorgio del Belvedere. It is called by Florentines simply Forte and it is a fortification in Florence, Italy.

It was built by Grand Duke Ferdinando I de’ Medici during the period 1590–1595, with Bernardo Buontalenti as the designer, to protect the city and its rule by the Medici family.

The Fort served as a garrison for troops for over 100 years after its completion. The design and construction of the Fort were entrusted to architect Bernardo Buontalenti, the chief architect for both Cosimo I and his son, Ferdinando.

The Fort served many purposes: to protect the center of government in Florence, the Pitti Palace; to protect the south end of the city of Florence and the Oltrarno district; to demonstrate the power of the Medici family; hold the treasury of the Medici; and finally to provide a shelter for the Grand Duke if the city came under attack.

The fort was connected to Palazzo Vecchio via the Vasari Corridor over Ponte Vecchio, passages in the Pitti Palace and paths through Boboli Gardens.
