Serie A, Fiorentina too strong for Hellas Verona

FLORENCE, ITALY – ACF Fiorentina is too strong for  Hellas Verona in the Serie A Match on Sunday Aprila 13, 2014.

The 5-3 victory keeps Fiorentina five points clear of Inter Milan in fourth place (with five games remaining) while Verona drop to 10th.

It took only a quarter of an hour before Hellas took the lead, with youngster Jacopo Sala netting his first professional goal on Italian soil.

Borja Valero and David Pizarro both fired wide from long range before Juan Cuadrado finally netted a deserved equaliser just past the half hour.

Luca Toni and Alessandro Matri exchanged penalties at the Stadio Marcantonio Bentegodi, but Aquilani’s late second goal rendered Juan Iturbe’s stoppage-time strike a mere consolation.
