This is the official motivation: “With Annie Feolde, Gualtiero Marchesi and Ezio Santin we want to reward the first “three stars” of Italian art cuisine, three voices and three teachers that – as real pioneers – have made known the excellence of Italian cuisine around the world. Faithful to the tradition but open to innovation, they represent and honor the dozens of chefs who have brought our food and wine at heights of excellence”.

The award, now in its 38th edition, was delivered at the site of the distillery Nonino, in Ronchi di Percoto.

“It’s a great thrill for me – says Annie Feolde – receive this award, with two excellent colleagues but also extraordinary friends. We are binded by years of work in which we have seen grow and evolve Italian cuisine, which we feel proud to interpreter. But the feeling bigger, and in some new way, I’m going to feel next to the extraordinary authority of the characters that make up the jury and those who will be awarded with us (the philosopher Michael Pollan, poet Jorie Graham, the researcher Fabiola Gianotti and physician Peter Higgs). An opportunity like this – continues Annie – pushes me to rethink my life. It means that everything I’ve done made sense, and was awarded the work, professionalism and all those values I have always believed to, and to whom I have inspired my way of interpreting life itself. “
