FLORENCE, ITALY – In the 2012/13 Serie A, Week 8, it is played the match between Chievo and Fiorentina. A good first-half performance wasn’t enough for Fiorentina to beat a stubborn and well-drilled Chievo outfit.
Corini’s side took the lead through Thereau but a minute later the Viola were back on level terms thanks to Rodriguez. Toni was denied by the post.
Here Vincenzo Montella’s interview to Viola Channel. He spoke to the media ahead of tomorrow’s Serie A match against Chievo:
Who will start against Chievo, Toni or El Hamdaoui?
“We’ll see. They are two different players. We have Ljajic too, who has similar qualities to El Hamdaoui.”
How did the players do during the week?
“They’re all looking good and can’t wait to play again.”
Is Tomovic a bit down?
“He seemed very calm to me.”
Will Aquilani be in the squad?
“We’re very happy with the way Alberto is coming along. He’s training with the rest of the team, now he needs to reach peak fitness.”
Is Jovetic still up for it?
“Absolutely. Two missed penalties aren’t really a problem. Who is our second penalty taker? Pizarro.”
Do you have any selection doubts?
“The main factor to take into consideration is what condition our internationals are in.”
Corini?
“A very good friend. He was already a coach when he was on the pitch.”
Can Fiorentina be considered Serie A’s surprise package this year?
“We still have to prove it. But it’s nice to receive so many compliments.”
What would an away win mean to this team?
“We’ll go out there to win. If we get it, it could make a big difference to us.”
Chievo?
“They are very good at adapting their game to their opponents. A team used to scrapping who can hurt you with their skilful players.”
