Train and taxi together for tourists in Florence

FLORENCE, ITALY – An efficient integration between the train and one of the major elements of a national transportation system is the result of an agreement between Trenitalia and the taxi company Florentine SOCOTA thanks to Florence Convention Bureau, which favored the meeting between the two companies.

The initiative states that members of Trenitalia Cartafreccia arriving at Florence Santa Maria Novella has access to a dedicated service by the staff of the taxi company, and discounted rates.

Specifically there are two opportunities:

– service “Fast Track” open to all members Cartafreccia. The Trenitalia customer arriving in Florence can book through a dedicated phone number, made available by the taxi company SOCOTA, a taxi awaiting in a special area outside the station, thus avoiding queues with other customers waiting for taxis.

– service “Welcoming the track” reserved for Cartafreccia Gold and Platinum members who, calling the same phone number, can book a welcome service directly to the track. On arriving at Florence Santa Maria Novella train station they can find a taxi driver fitted with an identifying sign, with the logo “Trenitalia”, who will accompany him to the taxi and then to the final destinatination.

Cartafreccia members will also benefit of a 10% discount on taxi fares from Santa Maria Novella train station.
