FLORENCE, ITALY – The economist Alessandro Petretto is the new councilor to the budget of the City of Florence. Sergio Givone also enters in the council, with the delegation to the culture. This was announced by Mayor Matteo Renzi, on the sidelines of the Confindustria Firenze.
Petretto replaces Claudio Fantoni, who resigned last Friday in a dispute with the mayor sounded the alarm on the budget of the Palazzo Vecchio. “We have taken note – said Renzi – the resignation of Fantoni, who are politically unmotivated because the budget does not run any risk. There are two major issues, domestic: the problem of the stability pact, because we have more money than we can spend , and a potential difference in estimates between municipalities and the government.”
According to Renzi, the name of Petretto, university professor and in the past as head of regional economic analysis Irpet, will help to dispel all doubts on Florence budget. Renzi also took the opportunity to give the philosopher Sergio Givone delegation to the culture, which until now held in the interim mayor. “Two people – he concluded – in a spirit of great level of serviszio have agreed to lend a hand. A true leader and ‘even more employees what he calls’ good for him.”
