FLORENCE, ITALY – Municipality of Florence will present partners among cities of art to develop a project which aims to provide solutions and instruments that can help traditional and artistic crafts become a real economic driving force of the local and regional economies in the cities of art. The projects will be presented tomorrow in Palazzo Vecchio.
These solutions and tools are best located and defined jointly in an interregional partnership, through sharing and exchanging knowledge and experiences of European cities or areas facing the same challenges.
The main objective of the proposal is to jointly develop local and regional development strategies and policies to support and boost the artistic crafts sectors in the partners’ regions, with a particular concern to their transferability at EU level.
The specific objectives of the project are: to share, exchange and organise intensified transfers of experiences, knowledge and know-how between the partners on jointly selected best practices and approaches leading to the enhancement of the artistic craft sector; to share and exchange policies for the creation of new enterprises, innovative products, opening of new markets in the artistic craft sector, even through promotion campaigns and investments; to support and improve the capacity for the design and management of incubators specifically targeted at the artistic craft sector, and related facilities promoting and enabling entrepreneurship of young people.
