Three people are confirmed dead after a cruise ship carrying more than 4,000 people ran aground off Italy, along the cost of Tuscany, near to Isola del Giglio. In a first time Italian media had published the news the dead were six. Dozens are still missing.
The bodies of two French tourists and a Peruvian crew member found dead and were identified. According to initial medical examinations would be drowned.
Italians, Germans, French and British were among the 3,200 passengers. There were also 1,000 crew on board of the Costa Concordia. Scenes of panic after the ship hit a submarine rock on Friday night.

Costa Concordia was a Concordia-class cruise ship owned and operated by Costa Cruises. She was built at Fincantieri’s Sestri Ponente yards in Italy. The name Concordia was intended to express the wish for continuing harmony, unity and peace between European nations. Costa Concordia entered service in July 2006 and was the largest ship to be built in Italy, at 114,500 tons. Costa Concordia had an unfortunate launching.
