The Kuwaiti-Italian Friendship Society has urged the Italian government to take a political action at the European level about the Iranian provocations causing instability in the Arabian Gulf, asserting its solidarity with Kuwait.
The appeal was uttered by President of the Friendship Society Pieradrea Vanni from the headquarter in Florence, Italy. The statement was published today by KUNA news agency.
Vanni called on the Italian government to adopt a strong initiative within the framework of the European Union towards the acts of destabilization by the Iranian government.
Vanni added that the escalation of tensions raised by Tehran in the Arabian Gulf and its threats to close the Strait of Hormuz to shipping traffic as well as the escalation of military propaganda accompanying the problem of development of its nuclear technology for military purposes are all reasons for concern, a matter that requires a response to be made through diplomatic channels and through sanctions from the European side as well.
